Three Outage: Is Three Down Right Now?
Spotted a Three outage and can’t get your calls, texts or mobile data working? You’re not alone. Before you start troubleshooting, take a look at the live reports above this page. They’re submitted by other Three customers in real time and often the quickest way to tell whether there’s a genuine network problem or something specific to your phone.
How to Tell If It’s a Three Outage or Just You
Network issues tend to affect a specific area, town or region rather than the whole country at once. If several people nearby are reporting the same problem, that’s a strong sign of a wider fault rather than an issue with your handset or SIM.
Here’s a quick way to work out what’s going on:
- Check the outage reports at the top of this page for your area or postcode.
- Ask a friend or family member on Three if they’re having the same trouble.
- Look at whether the issue affects calls, texts, data, or all three.
- Try turning your phone off and on again, a surprisingly common fix.
If reports are clustered around your area and the timing matches when your service dropped, you’re likely dealing with a genuine Three network fault rather than a problem with your own device.
What to Check Before Assuming Three Is Down
Not every dropped signal or “not working” message means the network itself has failed. A good number of connection problems come down to something simple on your end, and these are worth ruling out first.
Quick Checks You Can Do Yourself
- Make sure Airplane Mode is switched off.
- Check you’ve got enough credit or that your bill is up to date, in case of a payment issue.
- Remove and reinsert your SIM card to check it’s seated properly.
- Confirm your Three account hasn’t been paused or restricted.
- Try moving to a different location, especially if you’re indoors, underground or in a rural spot with weaker coverage.
- Update your phone’s software, as outdated systems can sometimes cause connectivity problems.
If you’ve worked through these and you’re still having trouble, it’s more likely to be a fault on Three’s side rather than your phone or SIM.
Common Three Faults and How to Fix Them
Some issues come up more often than others. Here’s a rundown of frequent problems Three customers report and what usually resolves them.
| Fault | Likely Cause | What to Try |
|---|---|---|
| No signal at all | Local network fault or poor coverage area | Restart your phone, check the outage reports above, try a different location |
| Mobile data not working | APN settings, data allowance used up, or network issue | Check your data usage, confirm APN settings are correct, restart your device |
| Calls dropping or not connecting | Signal congestion or a temporary network fault | Move to an area with stronger signal, try again after a few minutes |
| Texts not sending or arriving late | Message centre number issue or network delay | Restart your phone, check message centre settings, wait and retry |
| Can’t make or receive calls indoors | Weak signal penetration in your building | Try Wi-Fi Calling if your phone supports it, or move closer to a window |
Common Error Codes on Three
If your phone is displaying an error code, it can help narrow down what’s causing the problem. Below are some commonly reported codes and general guidance on each.
| Error Code | What It Usually Means | Suggested Fix |
|---|---|---|
| No Service | Your phone can’t detect a Three signal in your area | Restart your device, check for outage reports, try a different location |
| SIM Not Provisioned | An issue with SIM registration on the network | Restart your phone, reinsert the SIM, contact Three if it persists |
| Data Connection Error | APN misconfiguration or a temporary data fault | Check APN settings, toggle mobile data off and on, restart your phone |
| Network Not Available | Wider network outage or handset connectivity issue | Check the reports above this page, retry after a short wait |
When to Contact Three Customer Service
If you’ve checked the reports at the top of this page, ruled out the basics, and you’re still stuck with a fault, it’s time to get in touch directly. Three’s team can check your account, run diagnostics, and confirm whether there’s a known issue affecting your area.
You can reach Three through their official support channels, including live chat and their help pages, via the Three support website. This is also the best place to check for any officially confirmed service issues in your region.
Before You Contact Them, Have Ready:
- Your account number or mobile number
- Details of when the problem started
- Any error messages or codes you’ve seen
- A note of what you’ve already tried
Having this information ready speeds things up considerably and helps the support team get to the bottom of your issue faster.
Keep an Eye on Live Reports
Network faults are usually temporary and get resolved within a short space of time, but knowing whether it’s a wider outage or a problem with your own phone makes all the difference. Check back to the reports above this page whenever your Three service isn’t working as it should, and you’ll get a clearer picture of what’s really going on before you pick up the phone.
